Depending on the complexity of your matter, LMS Litigation works either on a flat fee service rate, or based on an hourly fee. If proceeding on an hourly basis, a retainer must be provided to be held in trust prior to the commencement of work on your matter, and will be billed out regularly as work is completed. You may be asked to provide top ups to the retainer once it has been depleted if there is still more work to be done on your file.
If proceeding on a flat fee basis, the flat fee (including tax) must be provided in advance of the commencement of work on your matter, and will be billed out at the conclusion of the matter.
The following matters can typically be worked out on a flat fee basis:
Uncontested separation agreements
Guilty pleas and sentencing
Unbundled legal services for family law and child protection matters
In addition, Lisa Mae also accepts Legal Services Society contracts and will provide services to individuals who are unable to pay for a lawyer themselves. This is known as "Legal Aid". Prior to commencing work on your Legal Aid file, Lisa Mae must be in receipt of a Legal Services Society contract for your matter
